“You’re the more real to me than any man I’ve ever known … ”

To book blogger Eden, Adam is the embodiment of every literary fantasy she’s ever had. Intelligent, wickedly funny, sexy, and attentive – he and his fascinating life seem right out of a novel. Their whirlwind relationship is so intense and all consuming that soon she can’t imagine being with anyone else.

But there’s one little thing that’s keeping Adam and Eden from their happily ever after.

They’ve never met. She doesn’t even know what he looks like.

Despite how hard she’s fallen for him and how he makes her feel, Eden’s doubts begin to threaten their passionate love affair. Why is he so mysterious? Why does he seem reluctant to meet her? What is Adam hiding?

Afraid that she’s being made a fool of, Eden is forced to choose between her heart and her head. Is Adam too good to be true, as her common sense is telling her, or is the truth more startling than fiction?

“Dude, let me read as long as I want”

Blogger, reviewer, and literary aficionada, Eve never found “the one,” and finds solace and pleasure in the written word.

“Instead of marrying myself, I think I’ll marry a library instead.” I like her! Such a passion for books!

When she thinks of romance, she thinks of Jane Austen with deep conversations, an exchange of hearts, and a true meeting of souls. Yeah, only in the books, sister!

Then Eden forms a close bond with a Twitter follower named Adam. Adam and Eve—what are the odds? Anyways, he’s a writer that woos her with his vast intellect, poetry, and international worldliness. He challenges her with debates on politics and gender rights. The two engage in such deep, philosophical conversation that it’s like they’re from the 1800’s or from the Renaissance. They pretty much carry a haughty tone throughout. But every now and then there is a sweet tenderness right out of Shakespeare scripture. Adam not only challenges Eve, but he provokes her and makes her feel worthy.

Book is compiled of blog entries, tweets, emails, and poetry with some story sprinkled in between. This is an old-fashioned love connection for the digital age. I thought there was just too much back and forth with the emails, which I guess makes sense as this was their only form of communication and it would be relatable in today’s age. But I just prefer more story than anything else.

This was “Dear Adam” all the way---it’s just nothing but love letters (or I should say love emails.)

Dear Adam edition by Ava Zavora Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I wasn't sure it was for me when I started it, but I got into the main character quickly.
The storyline was so unusual that I just HAD to find out where it would end.
The ending also was rare...I liked the very last chapter the best!
You'll be surprised.
Another fantastic book by Ava Zavora. I loved everything about this book. It was so different than any other love story I've read and I couldn't put it down. I actually read the book twice back to back after reading the bonus ending. It's unlike any other romance and I highly recommend it. Again, Ava Zavora created a female lead who I could relate to in a way, much like "Rosethorn". I did wish there was more description around Adam once they do meet, but it was still a perfect escape from reality. Highly recommend!
I'm giving it a three because I did want to know if Adam was real... However, it lost 2 stars for me because it was jarring the way the emails (headers) were set up... And I predicted the real ending, and it had LOTS of typos. I won't reveal much more (I hate spoilers). I think with a professional formatter, and a proofreader, this could have been a much more enjoyable book. Good original story.
Ditto all the other reviews. Adam and Eden sucked me in from the first page and Would. Not. Let. Me. Go. This book is just so different yet so good. I was completely obsessed with the twists and turns of their love affair. I have to talk about the epilogue. I will not spoil. But I will say this much, I was at war with myself. Should I read it??? Should I leave well enough alone??? Who was I kidding? I HAD to read it. And when I finally did. Oh. My. F'ing. G-d. Brilliant.
I read Zavora's first book and loved it. I thought I was getting more of the same with Dear Adam but I didn't. Dear Adam was better! I have never read anything like it. This book stayed with me so much that I am still thinking about it hours later. The details of their relationship deeply resonated with me. Anybody who has ever had a long distance relationship or an online relationship will see themselves in this book. I can't pick which I enjoyed more the conversations/emails, the plot surprises, the characters or that genius ending. This is going on my re-read shelf.
I would love to rate this book higher but I can't because of the poor copy editing. I loved the story and I loved the twist with the alternate endings, but the editing mistakes were so obvious, and so easily correctable that I have to mark the book down. There were numerous instances where the story would suddenly switch from past to present tense making it obvious that the author had originally written it in present tense, then decided to change it. If you want to call yourself an author, you've got to properly edit your books! If you can't afford an editor, find a friend who is competent with grammar and have them copy edit for you. I overlook the occasional mistake because I understand how easy it is for a few to slip in, and even the books published by large publishers have errors these days, however there were too many in this book and I kept getting thrown out of the story as a result.
Wow! 4.5 stars!
I find that I really enjoy well-written stories with that email and texting back and forth trope...lol
I was totally sucked into 'Dear Adam' and didn't want to put it down (to do mundane things like go back to work after my break, go the bathroom, eat, etc...lol).
There were a few editing issues with tense use. With bits of the story becoming annoying - like Adam NEVER revealing his physical self to Eden until the very end - and with the reader not really getting a well-enough description of his face, I still loved this story, with its likeable characters, intrigue, action, and a 'two-for-one' HEA!
